Jordi Merino

I am a Research Associate at the Diabetes Unit and Center for Genomic Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital and Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. My research focuses on how molecular and environmental factors affect complex metabolic diseases with the goal to advance the prevention and management of obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular complications. I have been part of large genetic and lifestyle consortia where I have investigated the interplay between lifestyle factors and genetic susceptibility on the risk of type 2 diabetes and related complications. In the past few years, I have been involved in the design and implementation of clinical trials to predict individual responses to specific dietary interventions, with special interest in precision nutrition.
